VORONTSOV PALACE
Palace and park of Earl Vorontsov in the town of Alupka

Vorontsov’s Palace was constructed from 1830 to 1848, to be used as a summer residence of the governor-general of the Novorossiysky Krai, Prince Mikhail Vorontsov.
The palace was built according to a project by English architect Edward Blore (1789–1879). An important architectural characteristic of the palace was its relation to the nearby Crimean Mountains, with which it harmonized perfectly.
In February 1945, during the world-famous Yalta Conference, the Alupka Palace hosted the English Delegation headed by Winston Churchill, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

MASSANDRA, NIKITA
Massandra Palace, Nikita Botanical Garden

The Palace of Emperor Alexander III was built to the design of the French architect Bouchart. The construction started in 1881 under the order of the governor's heir, grand duke Vorontsov, but only after seven years since his death the uncompleted palace was bought by emperor Alexander III and was finished in 3 years. In the Soviet period this architectural monument was the closed object, became the state cottage, where the Communist party and government leaders stopped to rest. Nowadays the palace is opened for visitors.

Established in 1812 by Christian Steven, the Nikita Botanical Garden is one of the oldest research and development centers of Ukraine. Here you can see a 1,000 year old juniper and a 500 year old oak tree, both native to Crimea, as well as many of almost 15,000 species collected from all corners of the globe.

AI-PETRI
By funicular to the top of Ai-Petri

Not being the highest point of the Crimean Mountains, Ai-Petri is undoubtedly one of the most impressive tops of Crimea. A 20-minute trip by funicular will bring you 1,234 meters high and offer you a panorama of the Southern Coast of Crimea and the shoreless Black Sea.

HISTORICAL YALTA
Livadia Palace, Pokrova Church in Oreanda

Livadia Palace was a summer retreat of the last Russian tsar, Nicholas II. The Yalta Conference was held there in 1945, bringing together leaders of the USSR, USA and Great Britain to shape destiny of the post-war Europe.

The settlement of Oreanda, a former grand duke mansion, is located to the south of Livadia. From Livadia it can be reached by the so called Sunny Path, which was laid as far back as 1861 and was known as the Tsar’s. One of Oreanda’s sights is its Pokrova Church built in a Georgian-Byzantine style, which perfectly matches a severe, mountainous landscape of Oreanda.

BALAKLAVA ANTIQUITIES
Balaklava Submarine Museum, Sheremetiev’s Museum, Seafront

Like many other Crimean sites, the settlement of Balaklava is full of mystery. It offers a great number of legends, ranging from Odysseus’s adventures to teeming treasures of the British steamer “The Black Prince” sunken near the bay’s cliffs.
The excursion “Balaklava Antiquities” includes visiting the famous Balaklava Submarine Museum, Sheremetievs’ Museum dedicated to the Crimean War, and the Seafront.

SEVASTOPOL – THE CITY OF TWO EPOCHS
“Panorama” museum, Chersonese, city centre

Sevastopol is the city of memorials and monuments, obelisks and museums. Its heroic past is narrated by the Panorama “Sevastopol’s Defense, 1854-1855”, the Diorama “The Storm of Sapun Mountain, 7 May 1944”, the Seaside Boulevard, and the Earl’s Dock. Older history still lives in the walls of Chersonese, which has preserved ancient and medieval monuments of Crimea. Chersonese is a sacred place for Orthodox Christians: here grand duke Vladimir was baptized in 988.

BAKHCHISARAY
Khan’s Palace, Chufut-Kale cave town, Uspensky Monastery

Bakhchisaray is the capital of the former Crimean-Tatar Khanate. The Khan’s Palace is a unique example of oriental architecture and the museum of culture of the Crimean Tatars. One of its masterpieces is the famous “Fountain of Tears” sung by Alexander Pushkin, the greatest Russian poet. In the surroundings of Bakhchisaray you can visit one of the most famous cave monasteries of Crimea – the Uspensky Monastery, as well as the cave town of Chufut-Kale.

SEA TRIP
By motor boat to the Swallow’s Nest Castle

The famous “Swallow’s Nest”– the symbol of the Southern Coast of Crimea – represents a small romantic castle, located by some miracle at the very edge of the large Avrora Cliff.
